Some Good Reads...

The Shack by William P. Young
This is an awesome read and it comes highly recommended from me. I know that there is some controversy surrounding this book, however, you just have to know that it is fiction. I was moved and changed by this book and it made me think so much that I had to pause many times to let my mind rest. This is why the author wrote it.. " I wanted my kids to enjoy a story and through the story to understand there own father better and the God that their father is so in love with." Anything that can challenge you is worth the read. If you have any comments about the book, I would like to hear them. (You either hate it or love it.)

Girl Talk by Jen Hatmaker
You can not judge this book by the cover. Honestly, it looks like a book I had growing up in my teenage years. It is an incredible book about your relationships with your girlfriends and Godly community. I am doing this with the ladies in our bible study class and so far it has brought around some great conversation.

I love the look of your blog! I have the Shack but have yet to crack open the cover. I need too, but don't know if I can handle anything to depressing. Is it depressing? Maybe I should start with that Girl Talk. I love all your comments on the Bachelor....keep them coming!!

I read the Shack and really liked it. I think that there were some great messages in the book. God used it to teach me about his love and the power of forgivness.

I just read the Shack last month. After all the buzz I figured I should figure out what I thought.

First, being easily frightened by scary things, I was a little shook by basic story line (probably didn't help that I was in the woods for a week at my moms).

Second, while I don't agree with all the concepts, I think it is an interesting perspective. It has helped me visualize the trinity better and, honestly, changed my prayer life. It's a good reminder of "God works ALL things together for good."

The Shack has been sitting on my night stand for 4 months! I have heard that it is a life changer, but I'm scared to read it. Does that sound silly? I just don't know if I can get past the sadness of the premise of the book. (Have we already talked about this?)
