No "Bobby"

Last night around 6:30 I started having contractions and decided to go to the hospital. In fact, it felt just like the morning Keegan came except that my water did not break. We get there and the nurses hook me up to watch me for a few hours. Around 1am they start getting more intense, every 4 minutes, and I get excited to think that "maybe" Jack would come. They decided to hook me up to an IV and said that if it was true labor the contractions would still intensify and I would progress. If it was false labor, they would subside and the IV should buy me at least another week. Well, they completely subsided, except for some crampiness, and at 3 pm today I was released. Now I am really confused on "when" to go to the hospital. It really felt like the real deal. I kept thinking of the Father of the Bride II where Annie has a few false alarms and walked right back in the house with only her suitcase, and no "bobby", as Frank would put it. So, will yall pray that I will just "know" next time??

Michelle,
I worried about that too. I heard stories of women thinking their water broke when they actually just wet their pants! And how embarrassed I would be if that happened to me. Thankfully, I ended up being induced and didn't have to rush to the hospital. I will pray for perfect clarity to know when it is the right time for you to go. But if you're not sure, just go anyway. Our pastor's wife waited and their son was born in the car! : ) Amy

Oh my goodness!!! I am SO EXCITED! I will pray for you. This is just great. I can not wait until the day for the real contractions. I don't really know what false labor feels like since my body just knows how to go into real labor FULL FORCE! :-) I'm sure you will know next time. I love you. I can't wait to see JACK!

Oh wow! My doctors would say to go to the hospital if you suspect it's labor, chica. How fun if he came before Christmas!

That is sooo EXCITING!! Time feels like it has flown by, I guess with us being all moved up to Scotland. How much do I wish I was in H-town so I could come see you, and your boys? I must pray I don't have an envious spirit toward some of your lovely blogging friends who will get to see you and baby jack soon! :o) Love you friend, praying for a non complicated, safe delivery. xx PS Kyle got his first tooth Sunday evening! we were up ALL night :o(

Okay, so can I say that I can't stand the term "false labor"! I had lots of it with all of mine and one thing that made me feel better was that I knew it was less of that labor that I was going to have to go through! I know that your body is just working you to having Jack! Don't feel discouraged!!! You'll know when it's time, and that's what the doctors are there for!!! Praying for you and that's very exciting! :)

Definately, we'll be praying. Did you do aerobics like they did on Father of the Bride II as well?

i'm gonna agree with the others and tell you just go anyway. better to be sent back home than to have your baby born in a texaco bathroom like someone i know.
