Memorial Day Weekend Festivities

Friday Jonathan got off work early and I convinced him to go the mall while I shopped for a new bra. I thought it would be easy and VS just came out with a new biofit bra that I thought would work for me. Well...let's just say that the girls are just not the same and I am convinced they went into shock after Jack was born. I tried several on and without going into any detail, they just did not work. So we went to Dillards and found a ugly one that worked. I had to return it this week because I felt "old" in it.

Saturday, we went to the Sanders house, because Jonathan's twin sisters were moving into their swanky loft and his help was enlisted. The boys and I went along for a change of scenery and I watched all these cool items being packed into the van and was wanting to redecorate my whole house. Having a mom as a interior designer pays off! It also pays off to have a mother-n-law as one as well.

Sunday, we played hookie from church. I actually woke up with what I thought was a mean cold coming on and it disappeared after a short nap. We decided to go across town to the town and country mall and look for another bra. Can I just say that my husband is awesome spending half of his weekend bra shopping? We get there at eleven only to find out they open at noon. I guess it is a good thing I don't know that. We jetted down to this park, Keegan and Jonathan had play time, and Jack sat in my lap as I prayed and had my own little church service. We then went to Einstein Bagels and felt like big heathens when church was let out and all the churchy dressed people came to eat. Around the corner was Gap Body and I find what I thought was the perfect bra for me. In fact I bought two. I wore one yesterday and the underwire is killing me. DERN! I wish I could take the worn one back. I am still searching people...and I won't give up until the girls are happy.

Monday, we were resting from the crazy weekend and Amanda calls with a great idea to get together. Keegan and Jackson played in the pool and had lots of fun with plastic cups. Forget water toys...all you need is a cup! Then Jackson got into the sandbox. Nice and gritty was he! Aunt Fitine came over later and provided endless entertainment with the ball popper's air and attacking them in our tent. It was a perfect ending to a crazy weekend.

Our "Jack Jack"

Keegan is such a big help and his latest thing he loves to do is help hold Jack's teether. Of course, I have to be careful, because he also loves to ram it in his mouth.

Keegan likes to say "night night" to Jack and kiss him goodnight. Love it!

"When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow on you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, Your Savior! ...Since you are precious in my sight, since you are honored and I love you, I will give you other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for you life" Isaiah 43:2-4

On the front line...

Can I just be real?

I have been rounding that corner again. It has been so familiar to when I passed through that excitement and awe stage with Keegan into a very lonely season which I am pretty sure was hormones. Again, I think I am entering into it again. I keep clinging to the hope that God gives and fight the despair that wants to creep into my soul everyday. I feel myself pulling away from people and not wanting to be engaged. Exhaustion wants to steal every ounce of joy away from me and the walls of my house want to inch closer and closer.

This time I am going to do what it takes to prove that my God is bigger than any malicious thought that Satan tries to plant in my spirit. I will believe. The enemy will not win and I am pretty sure that there will be a major battle and God will not wave the white flag but come out always.....

I just felt like I needed to kick myself into gear and what a better way than voicing it so that the enemy knows I mean business.

America...You Got It Right!

Go David Cook! YAHOOOO! I really thought that David A. was going to get it and I am pleasantly shocked. He had an incredible voice but could not top his brilliant elder. The Disney Channel is waiting with open arms David A. for a little bit of sunshine. (Seriously, does he ever stop smiling?)

I wish I could...

*Write about anything I wanted to on this blog. Wow, I have some good stories but you never know who reads your blogs.

*Try out for American Idol. I am too old, but I would cave under the pressure anyhow. So for now Simon can judge me in my dreams. Trust me he already has.

*Go on a mission trip to Africa. This is one of my long-term goals.

*Abstain from cokes and chocolate. Although, Amanda has introduced me to Coke Zero and I am going to TRY to train my taste buds.

*Ask God why He created mosquitos.

*Buy incredible gifts, wrapped to perfection and all monogrammed, for all my friends and family's special occasions.

*Have more confidence in sharing Christ with people.

*Have the patience to grow my hair out again. Of course, I would probably chop it off as soon I got it to the length I liked.

*Go back in time and never date until I met Jonathan.

*Dance. It is so much fun when I do but I look like a big dork. Keegan is about the only person that likes my skillz!

*Stop making eye contact with all the kiosk people in the middle of the mall. Can I just say they make my pet peeve list?

*Speak another language

*Run long distances.

*Stop watching re-runs of The Baby Story.

*Secretly turn myself in for the show "What Not To Wear". I would just like the shopping spree and fashion help!

*And lastly, I wish I could comment AND be up to date on everyone's blog. Maybe when there is more time. HA!

The Day Has Come

Keegan was sitting on the ground today and let out a very loud toot. He laughed hysterically and did it again. He followed it up by holding his nose and saying, "Stinky". I am pretty sure this is the first of many MANY more to come. Lord, help me!

Not So Fabuloso!

A couple times at the condo I was able to get a maid and she used awesome smelling cleaning solution. It was my favorite scent and I never got around to ask her what it was. I thought for sure it was a special solution you got at a professional cleaning store. So, recently I decided to get a maid once a month to help with a deep clean since I have limited time on my hands. She asked, "Do you have Fabuloso"? I said, "Fabu-what?" She said, "Fabuloso??" She did not speak very good English so I had not clue really what was saying. Later that week, I went for my normal grocery run and saw the solution called "Fabuloso". I bought it out of curiosity and realized that it was the exact solution that the maid at the condo used! I was so excited that I went home and immediately started cleaning. My house never smelled so wonderful.

So onto this week. After the crazy weekend of many events, Monday came rolling around and the house was a complete wreck! It was dirty and cluttery and it was getting under my skin. So, I brought out the Fabuloso and went to work. Slowly, the aroma started settling my nerves and it put me in a happy trance. I whistled while I worked and went up stairs to put away clothes and such. While I was upstairs I realized that Keegan was being very quiet and that usually means one of two things. He is either reading a book or being VERY mischievous.

I went downstairs and heard, "Squirt, Squirt, Squirt!". I thought, "This can not be good!" I found him spraying himself with the Fabuloso, spraying the ground, and then licking it off of his fingers! He was rubbing it all over his chest like he was bathing. He apparently reached really hard to get it off the kitchen counter. I of course completely flip out and he realized very fast that he was in big trouble. His bottom lip protruding out is always a dead give a way that he KNOWS. So, I rushed him upstairs and bathed him. I thought for sure that it was not good for his skin and I had ruled out that he did not digest much. I scrubbed and scrubbed that boy and we both smelled like Fabuloso for the rest of the day. When it says, "Long Lasting Scent" means it.

I then remembered a couple weeks ago that I saw a special with Matt Lauer on the today show on how many cleaning solutions look like "juice"...including Fabuloso. A few days later Keegan pointed to it and said, "juice". I thought to myself that I needed to make sure to keep it locked up.

So never the less, I think I might take a sabadacle from the Fabuloso, and make sure I never leave cleaning solution in the reach of Keegan's go-go gadget arms.

Happy Mirthday Jack!

Jack is 4 months today! He is such a happy baby and he makes me laugh everyday. His eyes completely light up when you are around and squeals with delight all the time. I love to just stare at him because he is so beautiful...I mean handsome.:) He is our little overachiever in so many ways. Yesterday he rolled from his tummy to his back and is trying super hard to go from back to tummy. However, he has rolled from back to tummy in his sleep twice. Not sure why he can't do it when he is awake. I think he is going to be the one that will walk early because he is going to be our crazy energetic and spunky child.

He sleeps on average between 8-10 hours a night. He goes to sleep around 7pm, so we are still waking up between 2am-4am, but I am hoping he will stretch that out soon. One thing we are hoping to get under control is his spit up. This guy goes through 4 or more outfits a day and MANY burp cloths. We tried Enfamil AR because it is heavier on the stomach and it worked really well for about a week and now he back to his old ways. So, hoping to figure out what we can do to help him and our clothes! The other day I looked down on my shirt and the spit up was correctly placed where it looked like I was lactating. (Awesome!) You know, at the end of the day, I know that it will pass, but wow, in the moment of the flood of spit up is seems like eternity. Praise God he is a "happy spitter" and not "colicky"!!

Keegan is getting more used to him and the other day I caught him taking a burp cloth and cleaning Jack's face. Even though he smeared it all over his face, he was so proud of himself and I was proud of him. Just one of those moments. He makes sure that Jack has his pacee when he cries and has socks on his feet.

I feel like we are rounding the corner and having two kids is becoming much easier. I am actually enjoying my current life more and can not imagine not having Jack around.
